ALCHYMISTA mining house (national cultural monument) is a 200-year-old romantic mining house located on the southern slope in the heritage reserve of folk architecture in the village of Špania Dolina, only 14 km from Banská Bystrica. From the tiny windows you look into the greenery of the surrounding nature and listen to the sound of the forest. The house was sensitively restored and managed to preserve its genius loci.

The interior space consists of an entrance hall with a transition to a living room with a fireplace. Opposite the entrance to the living room is the kitchen. On the south side of the house there is a closed porch with a large split window and a view of the valley. In the middle of the house there is a bathroom with a toilet.

Once, up to 16 people lived in this house. Today it is an equally large space, which is ideal for a couple or parents with 1, maximum 2 smaller children. There is a folding sofa in the living room and a folding bed in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with kitchen utensils, pots and cutlery and kitchen appliances (fridge with small freezer, gas hob, convection oven, Cafissimo/Tchibo capsule coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, microwave oven, drip coffee maker, stick blender). Basic dry foods are prepared for guests (pasta, rice, flour, cocoa, sugar, salt, spices, oil, vinegar, breakfast muesli and cereals, etc.) In the refrigerator you will find long-lasting milk, juice, mineral water.
For a fee according to the price list, it is possible to buy wine, beer, spirits, salty snacks for drinks (chips, bars, nuts) to make the evening atmosphere more pleasant. The price of the stay includes a bundle of wood, chips and briquettes for 2 nights. In case of interest, it is possible to purchase a bundle of wood.

This house does not have its own garden, but right outside the door you have a forest and hiking trails with interesting monuments in the village and outside the village. In summer, you can choose mushrooms, blackberries, raspberries or wild strawberries. In winter, you put on your cross-country skis in front of the house and you can go winter hiking in the surrounding area.

And if you don't want to go anywhere, you can sit on a bench in the shade in the forecourt when the summer heat hits, or on the south side in the spring, autumn or winter sun. And when you're cold, you can smoke in the fireplace and with your gaze glued to the flames, you'll relax like nowhere else. You play cards or some board game, or you just passively relax while watching the TV screen.

The house is also an ideal place if you work on a computer and need absolute peace without distractions. Here you can definitely concentrate on your creative thoughts.

We furnished this house as our second home. It contains many things of a personal nature that complete its cozy atmosphere. Therefore, it differs from other commercially rented objects. We spent a long time deciding whether to share this beautiful retreat with someone else.
