Commemorative grammar school in Kláštor pod Znievom
There Monastery Znievom was one of three non-governmental Slovak grammar schools. The gymnasium was opened here in the 60s of the 19th century, at a time of solid Magyarization. Grammar school was founded Slovak patriots because the classical state secondary school compulsorily taught in Hungarian. The other two grammar schools were in Revuca and Martin and formed with support Matica Slovak Slovak national life. In the 70 years of the Hungarian grammar schools closed suzerain. Today in this building is a small village museum, the exhibition is devoted to the history of the village, folk traditions and crafts produced in this area.
