Žakýlsky Castle (ruins) Podhorie (okres Banská Štiavnica)
Nad obcou Podhorie sa rozprestiera tzv. Brezový vrch, na ktorom sa nachádzajú zvyšky záhadného hradu. Dnes sa hrad nazýva Žakýlskym, v minulosti to bol Pustý hrad. Zaujímavosťou je, že o existencii hradu sa nezachovali takmer žiadne zmienky. Žakýlsky hrad zanikol niekedy v 16. storočí. Slovenský polyhistor Andrej Kmeť na základe ľudového podania tvrdí, že pod pevnosťou viedla tajná podzemná chodba, tzv. Matejova cesta, ktorou prevážali striebro z Banskej Štiavnice do Kremnice. Či je to skutočne pravda nevie povedať nikto. Zachovala sa iba zrúcanina vonkajšieho obranného valu a podzemné priestory. V areáli hradu je dnes náučná tabuľa, lavičky a ohnisko. Z obci Podhorie sa dostanete k ruinám hradu po turistickom chodníku. Read on
