Lomnicky Peak Observatory Vysoké Tatry
V nadmorskej výške 2 634 m sa nachádza najvyššie miesto na Slovensku, kde pravidelne pracujú ľudia. Je to observatórium na vrchole Lomnického štítu vo Vysokých Tatrách. Je to ideálne miesto na cenné meteorologické a astronomické výskumy a merania. V roku 1940 tu vybudovali budovu spolu s visutou lanovkou. Od tohto roku sa tu uskutočňujú pravidelné meteorologické pozorovania. V roku 1962 zriadili na Lomnickom štíte pracovisko astronómov.
