Banská Štiavnica
Banská Štiavnica je zaradená do Zoznamu svetového prírodného a kultúrneho dedičstva UNESCO
V Banskej Štiavnici bola v roku 1735 založená najstaršia banícka škola a v roku 1762 ju povýšili na Banskú akadémiu, ktorá bola prvou vysokou školou svojho druhu v Európe. Neprehliadnuteľný je Starý zámok v centre mesta, ktorý slúži ako múzeum. Pre romantikov túžiacich po krásnom výhľade na mesto je ako stvorený Nový zámok na protiľahlom kopci. V priestore medzi Trojičným a Radničným námestím sa nachádza najviac pamiatok ako napr. Kostol sv. Kataríny z konca 15. storočia a budova radnice so štíhlou hodinovou vežou. Na Trojičnom námestí stojí nádherný trojičný stĺp. Stavebným zjednotením niekoľkých gotických domov vznikla v roku 1550 budova Komorského dvora (tzv. Kammerhof). 23 objektov nachádzajúcich sa v krásnej prírode Štiavnických vrchov tvorí spoločne banskoštiavnickú barokovú Kalváriu. Read on
