Rojkovské rašelinisko Stankovany
When Rojkov colony, in the local part of the village Stankovany, is smallish bog that ranks among the oldest peatlands across Europe. There are more than 15,000 years old and thus overcomes the well-known peat bogs in Ireland or in Northern Europe. You will find many interesting forms of animate and inanimate nature. There are lakes with bubbling mineral water and sulfur-smelling mud craters. The local rare mud is used to be used for example in Ľubochnianska spa. In the example, you will find bog Rojkovské carnivorous plant Rosický okrúhlolistá whose small oval leaves are covered with red glandular hairs that contain droplets of sticky "dew" that attracts insects. If the animal sticks here and there remain stuck and begin to slowly roll up the other glandular hairs, leaf curled a victim begins to be digested. The Rojkovské bog leads beaten path, which is about 200 m long. Read on
