During World War II the village was one of the centers Kalište so. Partisan Republic - areas in the Low Tatras, which was controlled by the guerrillas. Locals supported the guerrillas, for which the Germans were punished at the appropriate moment. 18 March 1945 attacked the village and those who did not escape murdered and burned the village. This village has never been restored and is today the territory of Kaliste national monument. There are two renovated houses, where the SNP Museum in Banska Bystrica established expositions, which focuses on guerrilla republic.
