Trencin Castle Trenčín
Hrad vznikol už v 11. storočí na mieste starého hradiska. Tým sa zaradil medzi najstaršie hrady na našom území. Mal dobre vybudované opevnenie, vďaka ktorému odolal nájazdu Tatátov. V roku 1302 hrad vlastnil Matúš Čák Trenčiansky. Za jeho pôsobenia hrad zažil svoj zlatý vek. Po jeho smrti boli k hradu pristavané tri nové paláce, ktoré sa volajú Ľudovítov, Barborin a Zápoľského palác. Po vystavaní troch palácov sa dostal do rúk Illesházyovcov, ktorý tiež prispeli k dielu tým, že dali vystavať sobášny palác. Počas stavovských povstaní sa hrad poškodil a od roku 1708 začína pomaly pustnúť. Až v 20. storočí sa renovoval a je sprístupnený verejnosti. Read on
