Vyšehrad Jasenovo
V pohorí Žiar sa nachádza vrch Vyšehrad, ktorý je známy vďaka svojej histórii. Stojí na rozhraní Ponitria a Turca a v minulosti bol významným strategickým miestom, z ktorého bolo možné kontrolovať obchodnú trasu, ktorá viedla cez Európu - tzv. jantárová cesta. Osídlenie na tomto mieste bolo už od praveku. Počas Veľkej Moravy sa tu rozkladalo hradisko, ktoré bolo významných mocenským centrom regiónu. Počas stredoveku boli na Vyšehrade menšie drevené hradištné pevnosti, z ktorých zvyšky je možné zbadať aj dnes. Vrch Vyšehrad je jedným z najvýznamnejších archeologických nálezísk a zaujímavou turistickou lokalitou. Vrcholová časť vrchu bola vyhlásená za národnú prírodnú rezerváciu. Na tomto mieste sa vyskytuje lesostepná vegetácia a chránené druhy hmyzu. Cez túto lokalitu, ktorá ponúka nádherný výhľad na okolie vedie aj náučný chodník, ktorý približuje históriu, archeológiu a prírodné pomery oblasti. Najľahšie sa sem dostanete z obce Jasenovo.
