Vyskytujú sa tu "sladkovodné" vápence, čiže travertíny, za ktoré môžeme ďakovať nerastnému bohatstvu vody, jej teplote, povrchu a stavbe krajiny. V obci vzniklo "travertínové pole". Po kaskádach prírodnej pamiatky Beseňovské travertíny neustále steká minerálna voda, ktorá obsahuje uhličitan vápenatý, horčík, síru a železo. Práve pre toto sú travertíny krásne farebné a určite aj najzaujímavejšie.
